Jeffrey Farber, Leon Gorris and Katherine Swanson awarded at IAFP 2022

Congratulations to ICMSF members Jeff Farber and Leon Gorris, as well as former member, Katherine Swanson (retired), who all received awards recognising excellence in food safety at the IAFP 2022 Awards Banquet on 3 August 2022 in Pittsburgh, USA.
Jeff Farber was awarded the Frozen Food Foundation Freezing Research Award. This award honours an individual, group, or organisation for pre-eminence and outstanding contributions in research that impacts food safety attributes of freezing.
Leon Gorris received the Honorary Life Membership Award. This award recognises IAFP members for their dedication to the high ideals and objectives of IAFP and for their service to the Association.
Katherine Swanson obtained the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award. This award, given at the discretion of the IAFP President, recognises an individual who has made a lasting impact on Advancing Food Safety Worldwide® through a lifetime of professional achievements in food protection.

Background information
Each year, the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) hosts an Annual Meeting, providing attendees with information on current and emerging food safety issues, the latest science, innovative solutions to new and recurring problems, and the opportunity to network with thousands of food safety professionals from around the globe. Held in various locations throughout North America, this meeting has grown over the years to become the leading food safety conference worldwide. IAFP 2022 was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
