Jeff Farber appointed to the “Order of Canada”

Congratulations to ICMSF ‘s Executive Director Jeff Farber for being appointed to the “Order of Canada” in recognition for his contributions to food safety.

Jeff has been included in the recent list of new appointees to the “Order of Canada”, one of Canada’s highest honours.

It recognises Canadians across all sectors of society who have made extraordinary and sustained contributions to Canada.

Jeff is recognised for his significant contributions to improving food safety both within Canada and worldwide.

The International Commission on Microbiological Specifications for Foods (ICMSF, the Commission) was formed in 1962 through the action of the International Committee on Food Microbiology and Hygiene, a committee of the International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS). Through the IUMS, the ICMSF is linked to the International Union of Biological Societies (IUBS) and to the World Health Organization (WHO) of the United Nations.
