ICMSF member Wang Jun honoured with CIFST First Prize

21 November 2024

The ICMSF proudly congratulates Dr Wang Jun on receiving the prestigious First Prize for Science and Technology Processes from the China Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST).

The award was presented during CIFST’s 2024 annual meeting, recognising Dr Wang Jun’s exceptional leadership in the project titled Construction and Application of a Full-Chain, Multi-Dimensional Food Safety Standard System. Grounded in the framework of China’s Food Safety Law, this ground-breaking initiative has significantly advanced food safety management practices.

The project has developed a comprehensive suite of national food safety standards, encompassing every stage of the food production and supply chain. These standards address critical gaps in areas such as hazardous substance control, food cold chain logistics, catering service processes, and the handling of ready-to-eat bulk food. Additionally, the project has streamlined local food safety standards, ensuring consistency and efficiency across regions.

This remarkable achievement highlights Dr Wang Jun’s contributions to safeguarding food safety through innovative approaches and rigorous standards. ICMSF applauds this well-deserved recognition and celebrates the global impact of Dr Wang’s work in advancing food safety science.
